Fisker Automotive
In attempt to stabilize itself, next generation automaker Fisker Automotive has removed Henrik Fisker as CEO and replaced him with Tom LaSorda, the former CEO of Chrysler Group.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Fisker Automotive is recalling 239 of its electric plug-in hybrids due to a battery safety issue. All 2012 models manufactured from July 1 through November 3, 2011, are being recalled.
American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) of Chinese solar wafer and module manufacturer ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE: SOL) (market cap $799 million) fell 16.74% Tuesday -- and recovered 3% in early trading today -- after reporting strong 2010 revenue and earnings growth, but scaring investors with lower gross margins in Q4 compared to Q3 and with a forecast that Q1 2011 revenues will be 14%-20% lower than Q4 2010 revenues.

A123 Systems (Nasdaq:AONE), a developer and manufacturer of advanced Nanophosphate lithium-ion batteries and systems, recently completed a battery supply agreement with Fisker Automotive, an American automaker of green vehicles.
In a good example of old technology giving way to new, Fisker Automotive is buying a former Wilmington, Delaware General Motors assembly plant and will use it to build affordable plug-in hybrid cars.
