Big Stone II was a 2004 proposal for a roughly 500-megawatt coal-fired power plant near Milbank, South Dakota, which would have expanded the capacity of the existing Big Stone 450-megawatt plant and delivered power primarily to a large and growing Twin Cities (Minnesota) population.
