Repower Systems AG (Xetra: RPW.DE) said today it has signed contracts to deliver 55 2-megawatt Repower MM92 CCV wind turbines designed for cold climates to Canadian wind projects. Forty turbines are destined for the 80 megawatt (MW) Saint-Robert-Bellarmin project in Quebec and 15 are heading to the Ganaraska and Whispering Woods wind farms that will generate a total of 30 MW in Ontario.

Mariah Power has unveiled a new and improved version of its patented vertical axis wind turbine. The Windspire wind turbine is a low-cost, low-noise, attractive wind power appliance for use in urban, suburban, rural and remote locations.

Charlotte, N. Carolina-based Duke Energy (NYSE.DUK) is planning a new wind farm on Colorado’s Eastern Plains that will supply electricity to Tri-State Generation and Transmission, headquartered in Westminster, Colorado.
