Consumers Continue to Devour Green Products

New research shows that despite the serious economic recession, consumers in the United States are still purchasing green products.

 

A study conducted by Green Seal and EnviroMedia Social Marketing shows that four out of five consumers are buying green products even though the economy has nose-dived.  50% of those surveyed stated they were buying just as many green products as before, while 19% said they were purchasing more green products than before.  Only 14% said they were buying less green products than before.

However, the study also showed that most consumers do not know how to tell if the green product they are buying is really "green".  Only 24% verified the claims on the packaging.

Green Seal CEO, Arthur Weissman says, "this increased consumer demand sends a signal to manufacturers to produce products taht are truly green."
