Clean Technology & Sustainable Industries Organization Announces Energy-Tech Event

The Clean Technology & Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI) announced an event that is sure to change the way we look at energy.

Set for June 21-25, 2010 TechConnect World is an event bringing together the leaders in technology development and product integration in cleantech, nanotech and biotech.

Now in its 14th year, TechConnect World, in association with the Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI), and CTSI, will bring together over 5,000 attendees from industry, research and government at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

CTSI is a 501c6 non-profit industry association that represents the organizations developing, commercializing, and implementing energy, water, and environmental technologies. Clean technologies offer much needed solutions to growing resource security and sustainability concerns and are critical to maintaining economic competitiveness. CTSI brings together global leaders for advocacy, community development, networking, and information sharing to help bring these needed technologies to market more rapidly.

TechConnect World will draw over 5,000 attendees from over 70 countries, across major industry segments and along the technology path – from research to implementation. The event will host more than 300 companies, universities, equipment manufacturers, international development authorities, solutions providers and national laboratories. Exhibitors will meet with thousands of prospects and potential buyers, who come to the expo to evaluate the latest technology and services.

CTSI’s mission statement is straightforward: advancing the commercialization and global adoption of clean technologies and sustainable industry practices - through community building, advocacy, and knowledge exchange. The organization is in capable hands. Dr. Matthew Laudon is president and founding chair of the CTSI, and founder & executive director for Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) in Cambridge, MA.

Born in Austin Texas, Laudon obtained a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and subsequently worked at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), Motorola in Los Alamos National Laboratories, and numerous early stage companies in commercialization and partnership development. He has published over 30 technical publications and patents in topics ranging from nanotechnology, semiconductors and microsystems.

Dr. Laudon is the co-founder of the world’s largest nanotech community (NSTI) and multiple conference series, annually co-editing over 4000 pages of scientific and business research for the Nanotech Conference & Expo (1998-2007), the Clean Technology Conference & Expo (2006-2007), and the TechConnect Summit (2006-2007), which all focus on a community concept of accelerating commercialization of emerging technology into business and society.

Focused on commercialization, the conference and expo is attended and sponsored by top organizations looking for the latest innovations, best practices, market updates and most promising research trends. Sponsors include:  Accenture, Applied Materials, Austin Energy, Belgian Trade Commission, AC-Net/City of Anaheim, Lockheed Martin, National Grid, SDG&E, and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Speakers include participants from most every major technical university, corporate and government lab globally. Additionally, the speakers are met with the conference's growing list of corporate representatives and exhibitors including:  BASF, Merck, Dow, Sanyo, Samsung, P&G, Panasonic, Kodak, Honda, GlaxoSmithKline, Omron, bp, Medtronic, Toray, NETZSCH, EnerNOC, Hielscher USA, PANalytical, and many other global firms.
