The University of Florida's Ocean Circulation Group has released animation projecting the spread of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill [3] over the next three days.
The spread of the spill is predicted to increase dramatically now that it has gone into the strong turbulent waters of what experts call the "Current Loop." In the animation you can see the oil spill spreading in all directions, getting closer to Cuba and the Florida coastline. Experts are saying that the oil slick could touchdown in Florida in the next six days. [4]
