
The work on the Empire State Building will commence immediately and is expected to be completed by 2013. When the project is finished, the Empire State Building will have reduced its energy consumption by 40%. Furthermore, it will save 4.4 million in annual energy savings costs.
Commercial and business buildings account for close to 80% of the world's carbon footprint. And, as President Clinton explains, "in this distressed economic climate, there is a tremendous opportunity for cities and building owners to retrofit existing buildings to save money and save energy."
