Construction Underway On 99 MW New Hampshire Wind Farm

Renewable energy developer RMT, Inc. has announced it has started construction on the Granite Reliable wind farm in Coos County, New Hampshire.

RMT was selected by Granite Reliable Power LLC, a joint venture between Canadian-based Brookelfield Renewable Power and Freshest Wind Energy, to provide the project's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). Comprised of 33 Vestas V90 3.0 wind turbines when complete at the end of 2011, the wind farm will have a generating capacity of 99 MW -- New Hampshire's largest utility-scale wind farm.

RMT, which is part of Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE:LNT), also develops solar, biomass and geothermal energy projects and boasts over 3,800 MW of renewable energy development in United States.

"We are pleased to have started construction of the Granite Reliable wind farm.  This project brings numerous benefits to the region, and it is important that it be built by a company with proven experience.  RMT fits that bill, and we look forward to working together to safely construct this wind farm," says Mr. Kim Osmars, Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Renewable Power's U.S. Operations.
