EnergyBoom.com, the global online leader in news and views about the clean and efficient energy sector, is today launching a new coverage “channel” that expands the site’s coverage of energy efficiency.
Emily Murgatroyd, EnergyBoom’s Vice President Operations, said EnergyBoom’s Efficiency channel is being added to the site’s existing channels -- Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Transportation, Finance, Emerging and Policy.
“It is clear that more efficient use of energy is essential to slow the global economy’s generation use of greenhouse gases,” said Murgatroyd. “The good news is that there are hundreds of new products and technologies available today -- or that will be available in the near future -- to help us all reduce our energy consumption.”
“From today, EnergyBoom’s writers will give a new emphasis and urgency to the people, companies, technologies, policies and financial strategies in this critical sector,” Murgatroyd said.
Today’s addition of the Efficiency channel is the latest in a series of EnergyBoom enhancements.
On September 29, EnergyBoom announced new features that increase the utility of the website as a tool for investors and for stakeholders of publicly traded companies in the clean/efficient energy sector.
In June 2010, EnergyBoom began upgrading its financial markets coverage with the addition of the EBOOM CAPITAL column. This column covers the capital component of the policy<>technology<>capital formula that is driving the economy’s transition toward cleaner and more secure sources of energy and more efficient use of energy.
Earllier this year, the site increased both the breadth and depth of its coverage of the clean and efficient energy sectors and added resources to track and cover breaking news that impacts the sector. EnergyBoom’s breaking news coverage has included the political progress, or lack of progress, related to a new U.S. national energy policy, the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and other major events.
Over the next few weeks, Energyboom will announce other site enhancements that will further extend its leadership in the clean and efficient sector.

The economy’s transition to cleaner and more secure sources of energy is inevitable, but its speed will depend on technology, policy and capital. EBOOM CAPITAL focuses on companies whose practical and commercial alteratives to fossil fuels and energy waste are generating - or have good prospects to generate - revenues and profits.
